How to stay in shape when your time is overstretched

We know that work, children, household chores, and everything else take up a lot of our time. All too often, the result is a shortage of time for ourselves, to indulge and take care of ourselves.

Nevertheless, even on busy days, we still get little moments of downtime - held up in traffic jams, waiting for the car share, stuck in a queue... Here are some tips from us on taking advantage of these moments by doing some very simple exercises.

Tip: pay attention to your posture, be it in daily life or by doing these exercises! If you don't keep yourself upright and stretched, you risk doing yourself harm and that would be a real shame. Always think about your posture - back straight, shoulders back, and always looking far ahead.

Take advantage of being in the car to stay in shape

Time spent in the car can seem like time wasted, but it doesn't have to be! You can put it to good use by carrying out a few simple physical exercises that will help you stay in shape:

Warning - these exercises must only be done when you are stationary!

  • Tone arms: grip the steering wheel firmly and act as if you are trying to shrink it, with your arms outstretched. Hold this position for thirty seconds and relax. Repeat as many times as you can!
  • Working those abs: lower your seatback slightly, raise the top of your back making sure to keep it straight so as not to hurt yourself, look at the top of the windscreen while exhaling. Relax, breathe in, and repeat.
  • Firm thighs: put your feet flat on the floor of the vehicle, parallel to one another, hip width apart. Push your feet downwards and maintain the pressure for 30 seconds. Repeat several times.
  • Toned figure: why not try our Medi Stim ? Used regularly, that is, for 20 to 30 minutes a day, the Medi Stim's EMS function will help you fight cellulite by smoothing the skin. Of course, this needs to be combined with regular exercise to get visible results!

It's entirely possible to stay in shape in the office

To stop yourself getting sedentary at an early age, keep moving as much as you can! Staying sat down all day isn't exactly ideal for your back. Here is some advice that will do you a lot of good:

  • Always take the stairs rather than the lift. Never mind your legs and back - your heart will thank you for it!
  • If you need to speak to a colleague, don't use the phone. Make the effort to walk to their office.
  • Sit right on the edge of the chair and stretch out one leg until it is parallel to the floor. Hold this position with the foot extended. Do the same with the other leg.
  • If you can, try to swap your office chair for a fitness ball. It will force you to sit upright and will strengthen your back muscles - all good stuff!
  • Above all, don't forget to stretch throughout the day. Stretching will help you stay mobile.

If you want to motivate yourself to start regular physical activity that will help you stay in shape, these tips will help you get your body moving. The more you get used to doing exercise, the more you will want to do it. So what are you waiting for?
