What are the benefits of a sweat suit?

We can never repeat it enough: the best way to lose weight is to combine a healthy diet with regular exercise. When exercising, the activity induces an increase in body heat, forcing the body to regulate it. This natural phenomenon, well known to all, is called sweating. Apart from its temperature-regulating role, does sweating have other benefits? Sweat suits seem to be all the rage... Why? Does sweating have a role to play in the weight loss process? Does heat make you lose weight? Does perspiration make you lose fat and calories? Let’s get our facts right.

WHY DO WE SWEAT?

Sometimes considered a real pain, sweating is none the less a totally natural phenomenon. Our body temperature is influenced by the environment (external temperature), as well as stress or physical activity.
Exposed to this increase in temperature, our body must regulate itself to maintain a constant 37.2°C, otherwise we would have a continuous fever, risking internal injury due to overheating.

HOW IS SWEAT PRODUCED?

For thermoregulation purposes, the body releases water vapours through the pores of the skin to cover the epidermis and cool it down. These vapours are secreted by the sweat glands, but the sweat is actually manufactured in the so-called “eccrine” sweat glands. Sweat consists of 99% water (from our reserves) and 1% minerals.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SWEATING?

A detox guru in its own right, sweat allows the release of toxins accumulated by pollution, contaminated water and food, as well as other sources of environmental exposure. According to a study published in the journal Environment and Public Health, sweating eliminates arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury - heavy metals which, in case of prolonged and daily exposure, cause health problems or even death. SWEATING IS GOOD FOR HEALTH ON MORE THAN ONE LEVEL

TOXIN AND IMMUNE SYSTEM

  • Eliminates skin toxins
  • Prevents diseases related to toxic overload
  • Kills viruses and bacteria that do not survive above 37°C
  • Reduces the risks of a cardiovascular event
  • Helps treat infections faster

WELLNESS

  • Increases blood circulation
  • Relieves stress
  • Regulates temperature

BEAUTY AND ATTRACTIVENESS

  • Releases pheromones
  • Cleanses the pores of the skin, eliminates blackheads and reduces acne
  • Makes the skin beautiful, soft and luminous
  • Decreases water retention in the tissues

HOW TO SWEAT A LOT?

As explained above, exercise triggers an increase in temperature which is then regulated by the body through sweating. The problem is that the sedentary lifestyle that plagues our current day society keeps perspiration to a minimum.

Exercise remains an excellent means of achieving this sweating goal. But it is possible to optimise this phenomenon by wearing sweat suits.

WHY ARE SWEAT SUITS EFFECTIVE?

Made of non-breathable material, they have the function of increasing the temperature of the body and thus promoting the phenomenon of perspiration. Combined with low-intensity physical activity, such as walking for example, sweat suits are the perfect solution to get you sweating more.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SWEAT SUITS?

The benefits of wearing a sweat suit are intrinsically linked to the benefits of sweating listed above! But they have other peculiarities which are worth mentioning:

  • They increase the loss of water (and not fat as mentioned sometimes wrongly). The weight loss associated with wearing these clothes is due to the loss of water, not fat
  • They eliminate toxins
  • They are a great way to warm up before training
  • They make it possible to optimise perspiration, even in the case of low-intensity activity
  • They make the skin beautiful and soft
  • Their draining function makes it possible to fight cellulite effectively (that caused by the retention of water).

A SWEAT SUIT TO ELIMINATE CELLULITE?

There are 3 types of cellulite:

  1. Adipose cellulite: Soft and painless to the touch, it is often due to excess weight.
  2. Aqueous Cellulite: The result of water retention, it is due to disorders of the blood circulation and is aggravated by lack of exercise
  3. Fibrous cellulite: Hard and painful, it has made itself at home and is difficult to dislodge. It is present in all women, even the thinnest.

A sweat suit will therefore be a great way to reduce aqueous cellulite, that linked to circulatory disorders. Indeed, sweating eliminates water thanks to its draining function and therefore effectively gets rid of this type of cellulite.

A sweat suit for everyone

Sweat suits have the attribute of being worn very close to the body to optimise their effectiveness. Unfortunately, women with curvy figures often come up against the difficulty of finding these clothes in their size! But that’s no excuse, sweat suits for women in large sizes can still be found! You just need to know where to look (psst: many models are offered in large sizes). Cool

So what are the main points?

Sweat suits do not make you lose fat but water! The lost weight you see on your scales after your physical activity will be back once you rehydrate!
Don’t forget to drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration and promote the elimination of toxins in your body.
For more effectiveness, especially in the loss of cellulite, it is recommended to wear the sweat suit while exercising.
Remember, to lose weight healthily, a healthy and balanced diet remains paramount.
