Want to keep your tan? It's a cinch!

You are just back from holiday, relaxed and well-tanned. You have a healthy glow and a lovely tanned complexion. Here’s some advice for keeping that radiant glow and showing it off when the holidays are over!

KEEP YOUR TAN BY EXFOLIATING YOUR SKIN

There’s no risk of losing your tan by exfoliating your body! On the contrary, keeping your tan means getting rid of dead skin. This type of body care might seem a bit aggressive, but it will revive your skin and restore its glow.

Advice:

  • Exfoliate the face and body 2 or 3 times a week.
  • For the face, it’s as easy as using Lucea!
  • Choose a gel suited to your skin type and/or the body part you are treating.
  • If your skin is fine and sensitive, go for a face exfoliating gel that contains finer-grained beads than body gels have.

MOISTURISING YOUR BODY IS A MUST FOR MAINTAINING YOUR TAN

We don’t always make time to take care of ourselves by moisturising the skin every day. Nevertheless, this well-deserved moment of relaxation is also beneficial for the skin. It needs to be moisturised throughout the year - especially in summer when you are exposed to the intensity of the sun’s rays.

ADVICE:

  • In summer, take advantage of after-sun care using simple moisturising lotions.
  • Filled with active repair ingredients that moisturise, nourish and soothe, this skin lotion will restore your skin after the ravages of the sun and wind.
  • After showering, moisturise.
  • Use different creams for the face and the body.
  • Drink plenty of water. Lemon and/or orange slices can be added for a moisturising, refreshing effect.

TO PROLONG YOUR TAN, ADOPT GOOD EVERYDAY HABITS

The end of the holidays doesn’t mean the end of summer. In September, there are still plenty of lovely sunny days ahead of us. It’s a great chance to carry on topping up your tan naturally by carrying out outdoor activities.

ADVICE:

  • Take time to unwind outdoors: Get some fresh air and top up your tan! Going back to our everyday routine doesn’t mean shutting yourself up in this office or at home ad infinitum. Practise outdoor sports and take your lunch break in the park, away from your computer screen.
  • Do 20 minutes of sport every day. This is because sport improves blood circulation and encourages oxygenation in the skin, which in turn will preserve your tan.
  • Cook and eat a balanced diet - this is also important for maintaining your tan.

A reminder: Eat fruit and vegetables such as carrots, parsley, lamb’s lettuce, spinach, mango, red pepper and melon. These seasonal fruits and vegetables have a high concentration of beta-carotene and antioxidants and are good for your tan.

SELF-TANNER, THE MIRACLE SOLUTION FOR KEEPING YOUR TAN

Of course, your tan will not last forever. Nevertheless, a little boost won’t do any harm. And no, it’s not a trick!

Applied after exfoliating, a small amount of self-tanner will restore that tanned complexion you were so proud of in just a few minutes.

ADVICE:

Be careful, it’s important to choose your self-tanner well and get the colour that suits your skin to avoid nasty surprises.
