How to keep your skin healthy and glowing after the holidays

Our skin radiates healthiness in summer, thanks to the sun. Generally speaking, you put on less make-up and boast a naturally tanned look. But beware - once the sun starts making itself scarce, the imperfections will start to reappear. To prevent this from happening and to keep your skin healthy and glowing after the summer, follow our guide!

Healthy, glowing skin thanks to moisturising

The wind, sand, chlorine and sun all act aggressively on our skin. This is why it's important to remember to moisturise when you are back from holiday.

For optimum moisturisation, note the difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin.

1. Dry skin is sensitive skin that needs to be fed.

- Symptoms: itching, irritation, thin skin that looks white or pale.
- Solution: A nourishing, oily cream.

2. Dehydrated skin: every skin type can look dehydrated.

- Symptoms: Discomfort after showering, loss of shine, feelings of tightness.
- Solution: A moisturising cream rather than a nourishing one.

Glowing skin through better habits

We make the most of summer by exposing ourselves to the sun as soon as possible. However, the UV radiation makes our skin thicker over time. To keep your skin beautiful, you need to get rid of the dead cells to free up the pores. And to do that, you need to change your habits! Here are three good practices to adopt:

- Cleanse your skin with a Facial Care steam bath. This is because a steam bath is the perfect ally for clean, glowing skin. It will open up your pores so other skin care products can penetrate your skin better, for increased effectiveness!

- Exfoliate your skin to keep your glowing tan! Exfoliation helps to maintain your tan and keep you looking radiant for longer. For the best in exfoliation, make the Lucea your product of choice. But don't overdo the exfoliating - the skin is more sensitive in summer. Once a fortnight on the lowest setting will be enough. Want to find out more about exfoliation? Have a look here!

- Give your skin a deep clean: even if it looks perfect thanks to the sun, blackheads won't be slow in making an appearance. Fend them off with Face Strips and/or Nose Strips. They will be merciless with impurities! But be sure only to use them on skin that has already been soothed. You are advised to apply the patches once a week, or even once a fortnight. And for the best results, prepare your skin before applying the strips by using the Facial Care steam bath.
